This “One Joint” Merbau Decking has one singular hairline butt-joint placed randomly somewhere on the length of each board where only two boards have been manufactured end-to-end together to achieve a long length – this is completely different to the Finger Jointed Merbau Decking where the “fingers” are visible and there are up to 7 joints per board. The “One Joint” Merbau Decking is: Very straight with no deflection as found in solid boards. Manufactured with two boards colour matched on each length. Produced so that the “one join” does not need to be installed over a joist or bearer. Extremely stable with a moisture content not exceeding 10% - the industry standard for solid Merbau is 13% to 16%. This means that the one joint is so much less susceptible to movement and shrinkage. Bushfire BAL 29 Certified Timber for use in Bushfire prone areas. High grade durability Class 1 for external above ground use.
